Relatively unknown to the UK market, acrylic-coated wipe clean tablecloths have been widely used for some time throughout mainland Europe. Acrylic-coated tablecloths feel and drape like cotton, but wipe clean time and time again, and can be occasionally washed. They look great in a dining room where a formal look is needed. They are ideal for dinner parties, family meal times and even for entertaining outdoors when a plastic cloth "simply will not do".
Acrylic coated tablecloths are available by the roll, by the metre, or as ready made tablecloths (with edging) as squares, rectangles, ovals and rounds. We also offer a bespoke service - we can make the cloth to suit your exact requirements (width of roll permitting), whether you require 1 or 100.
Acrylic-coated cotton is an excellent alternative to PVC tablecovering - we use it ourselves!
However, it is not foolproof and liquid spills such as red wine, fruit juices, tea and coffee should be wiped up immediately. If a spill starts to dry onto the tablecloth, wipe it with a damp cloth. It can also be washed at 30 degrees, using bleach-free soap powder. After washing, ironing on the reverse on a medium heat restores the coating.
